The future of dairy
You may have heard about A2A2 milk. It's kind of a big deal in the dairy world these days. So here's the scoop: A2A2 milk is not your regular milk. It's got a special protein composition that sets it apart.
Scientists found out that cows produce two types of beta-casein proteins: A1 and A2. The difference? A1 has histidine, while A2 has proline. Sounds minor, but it matters when it comes to digestion.
When you drink milk that contains the A1 protein, it releases a peptide called BCM-7 during digestion. Some folks find this causes discomfort.
A2A2 milk, on the other hand, doesn't produce BCM-7, which may make it easier on the stomach.
But A2A2 milk isn't just about digestion. It's also more like the milk our ancient ancestors drank thousands of years ago, before a genetic mutation produced the A1 protein. So, it's about getting back to the real thing!
At OPE! I Found A Better Milk™ we want to make milk and cheese more accessible to everyone. So why we're all in on A2A2—there’s no A1 protein in any of our dairy. It does down easy.
